The Japan Karate Association World Federation Scottish Junior and Cadet Championships are being held at Forfar Community Campus on Saturday 22 April 2023.
“Forfar Community Campus is an ideal venue for the event. Brothock Shotokan Karate Club and the Japan Karate Association World Federation Scotland Organising Team are pleased to be working with partners ANGUSalive to promote children’s Karate in Angus.”

Competitors will be travelling from clubs across the central belt, Perthshire and Wick. This will be the Associations first national championships since the pandemic. The event, normally held in Glasgow, will this year be hosted by Brothock Shotokan Karate Club in Forfar.
“For the first time, this event is being held outside of Glasgow and ANGUSalive are very proud to be supporting the Scottish Japan Karate Association World Federation in 2023. Brothock Shotokan Karate are one of a number of clubs in Angus who are affiliated to our community sport hub network, which helps clubs to inspire and encourage more people (young and old) to build confidence, improve health and wellbeing and become more active through sport and physical activity.
The opportunity to showcase one of our local clubs like this is an exciting one, and we are delighted to open up the event to spectators free of charge to encourage people to come along, feel inspired and hopefully consider Karate as one of the many pathways to a healthier, more active lifestyle here in Angus.”

Brothock Shotokan is one of the longest established martial arts clubs in Angus and will have a squad of more than 40 competing, many of whom for the first time.
